TOBIAS KONRATH
These are the body measurements that I use to define the sizes of the tropicalresearch patterns.
The body measurements are based on the measurement charts published in the metric pattern cutting books by Winifred Aldrich, for some patterns the larger sizes might be 2 cm smaller or bigger. The measurements work both for male and female shapes.
Use these numbers to get an Idea of the size range you are in, no worries you don’t have to fit exactly – all the tropical research sewing patterns have tons of ease included.

Body Measurements change all the time and are very different from country to country. In Europe the sizes are smaller towards the Mediterranean Sea and grow larger towards Northern Europe. It’s basically impossible to define a universal size key for the whole world – but then again lets embrace the diversity. I’m always trying to create patterns that can be unisex as well, I definitely recommend to make toiles and check the sizes 😀
