My name is Tobi and I‘m a fashion designer and design lecturer. I escaped from the crazy world of Parisian fashion to the calm and beautiful tropics more than a decade ago. Thailand is my home and the place where I feel inspired and excited to explore & experiment every day.
The sunshine and heat are at times almost unbearable, but now at the end of the year it’s relatively mild and pleasant.
My European sense of clothing has slowly but surely changed into something uncomplicated, timeless and comfortable. For myself I like linen and cotton qualities Natural fibres that breathe and balance out the climate ( a little bit) …
The lockdowns have been long and strict in these parts of the world which meant lots of home office hours. Sometimes we wouldn’t leave the house for weeks! – But that meant More time to get busy and crafty! yay!
For about a year now I have been developing and sampling patterns for minimalist linen wardrobes and it all started out with the first version of the lazy-pants. A few weeks later I began researching alternatives for my physical drafting and sewing classes and I stumbled over the whole idea of pdf patterns.
It literally blew my mind, why had I never thought of it?
The idea of a print at home pattern for my students was born – and of course they needed some really good instructions and possibly a video – because I knew they would get stressed out and frustrated without me there to help and explain the sewing steps.
I love a challenge and started working on the lazy pants instructions.
Sketching has always been my love, so of course I didn’t simply want to take fotos for the tutorial, I sketched it all by hand! It took me a while to find the style and flow but then I was hooked. Illustrating every sewing step gives me the chance to find the best and most reasonable finish and make the sewing process as clear as I can.
Many people are frightened in the beginning, sewing is stressful for sure but it can also be fun and satisfying!
I like a good finish so I try to work as many French seams as I can into every project.
My patterns are made for you guys ( and for me as well) I love doing this so much and I hope it shows! You can find my printable pdf sewing patterns in my shop right here or in my etsy store. Let’s grow & learn together, make something everyday, let’s get sewing!
