FABRIC CONSUMPTION
you will need a minimum width of 47″ to cut the T-shirt tunic pattern. on narrow fabrics you can cut both the front and the back on the fold. For the short version you will require around 2y and for the long version 2,7-3y. Fabrics that are wider, 60-63″ require much less length if you cut the back upside down and add a centre back seam.
Have a look at the lay plan idea to see how you can place the pieces on your fabric ( or quilt!)for cutting.

MATERIAL COICES
which fabric do you want to use?
The pattern will drape and fall around the body depending on how drapey your material choice is. firmer textiles will drape and fold more dramatically.
I have made several versions of the T-shirt tunic in washed linens and cotton. Rayon, viscose and modal are an ideal match. Light satins, crêpes or even jerseys are also a great option. The uncomplicated nature of the pattern makes it ideal for a wide range of fabrics and is the perfect canvas for your creativity.

PATTERN HACKS!
I’ve added a few cool pattern hacks/modification to the ebook tutorial as well. Nothing too complicated and quite intuitive – you really don’t like bias tape even with my ‘continuous bias-tape tutorial’ in the instructions – no worries – just make a facing – it’s super easy 😀 Turn the t-shirt tunic into a kaftan or add gathers to the skirt.
Especially for newbies and beginners – don’t worry too much it’s not rocket science 😀 just give it a try all you need is scissors, paper and a ruler and probably some tape.
