HOW MUCH FABRIC DO YOU NEED? – good question! and multiple answers …..

The lazy skirt pattern is very easy to cut and there are different ways to do so. Depending on the width of your pattern and wether you can cut on the crossgrain or upside down – you will have options! I’ve sketched up a few lay plan ideas down below .

If you can cut the pieces like this ( with an additional CB SA you can save a lot of fabric.

Sometimes – especially with printed fabrics that have a clear orientation we might want to cut both the front and the back on the fold – this is a bit more wasteful but inevitable sometimes 😀

which fabric do you want to use?

I recommend light fabrics that drape and fall. Linen, cotton & viscose work great with the pattern. Crêpe de chine, silk satin or georgette turn the lazy skirt into a glamorous party piece, try and experiment & share your version of the lazy skirt with me !
